Here's some breaks from the beginning of what will hopefully be a year of breaks revival. I've stuck in my latest attempt at production, though it is still at the very rough stage. If anyone is interested in helping me make it good let me know.

Between the rise of dubstep into the mainstream, the resurgeance of old garage styles that crossed over with the new fidget scene and the general appreciation for all things wobbly and filthy the soundtrack to this year certainly had a big low end, no matter what dance floor you were on.

To celebrate the end of 2008 I therefore decided to compile a mix of many of my favourite basslines. Some of it is mixed well, other bits lose out a bit due to the fact I wanted to fit in as many tracks as possible.

Warm up your bassbins, turn up that sub, put the speakers on the floor and feel over 40 of my favourite basslines and general filth of 2008 shake your house.

There hasn't been a mix from us in a while so here's a Christmas present for all you bouncy Pogo people.

There has been a distinct lack of good breaks throughout 2008 with the odd exception from NAPT or Beat Assassins. Let's hope the return of Ctrl Z and Screwface with their new material, along with some other amazing releases this month, heralds a return to past glory.
